I joined Fitness Revolution in November, 2009.  At that time I was working out and thought I was eating the right foods.  When I met Nate he introduced me to a whole new way of working out.  I never really strength trained before, so I was surprised by the amazing results.  I was a cardio only person at that time.  For the next year, I lost a lot of weight and was feeling very confident.  Then about a year ago I got very sick.  After about 6 months of going to doctors and countless tests, I was finally diagnosed with colitis.  Although it was a relief to know what was making me sick, it also caused me to gain about 20 pounds.  I was at my highest weight in my life at 145 pounds and couldn’t seem to lose the weight or help my colitis symptoms.  Then I began to follow Nate’s meal plans and eating tips.

The plans taught me how to eat real food and stop eating anything that was processed.  Not only did my weight drop to 117 pounds and my body fat is at 17%, but I am symptom free with my colitis.  I a feel strong, toned and have a ton of energy.  Nate and his staff are amazing and I am in the best shape of my life and I have a chronic disease that is in remission. Without Fitness Revolution and the support I received, I would still be overweight and sick.  Thanks to everyone that has made my life better at Fitness Revolution and the lifelong friendships that I have developed!

My weight loss journey began when my personal life crumbled. Married for over 12 yrs and when it was over I weighed 166 pounds, 41 yrs old, alone, severely depressed, self esteem shot and my spirit crushed. I started crazy dieting and lost 20 pounds. When this happened I started to feel slightly better. It took about 12 months to stop crying and get off the couch. I realized that I’m the only one who can make change happen for myself, have complete control over my life and I can never get this wasted time back. So I decided to take the 2 week free trial at Fitness Revolution because I had 2 friends who were going and raved about it.

I didn’t realize walking through that door back in April of 2013 and meeting Dan Bednar would change my life forever.  I instantly fell in love with this type of workout and how it made me feel. I’ve always tried to do different types of fitness but always got bored and stopped. It is now Sept 19th, I weigh 124 pounds, eat healthy all the time, feel amazing, strong, toned, look like I’m in my early 30’s, have gained confidence, strength, mentally soooo happy and owe it ALL to Dan Bednar and Fitness Revolution. I joined Fitness Revolution on Feb 1, 2010 at the urging of my son as he was about to get back in shape after his swimming season ended. When I started I weighed in at 245 and being as heavy as 265 during my up and down cycles of gaining and losing. With a variety of health issues and my internal medicine physician preaching that being overweight contributes to about 90% of our health problems, I finally decided something about it and accept his challenge of doing this at 5:30 am.

Since the start, Nate basically put the responsibility and commitment back on me to really succeed. If I had questions I just needed to ask and he would guide me. When I searched for a plan he told me what I needed to do. The great thing about Nate and F.R. is that he is more than a trainer. I really was able to put my trust in him knowing that he had a B.S. Degree in Exercise Physiology. When I looked this up it meant he was trained to be able to “condition a person in a higher level of fitness & health and at the same time being aware of safety issues associated with a single session of exercise”. This was extremely important to me as I experienced a border line heart attack at the age of 42.

Since September of 2010 I have consistently weighed around 175 pounds and have had glowing reports from my cardiologist to “just keep doing what I am doing”. He has changed my appointments from every 6 months to once a year.

Today I am gladly able to make a monthly payment (investment) incorporating everything I have learned into a healthier and productive lifestyle. I would definitely encourage anyone wanting to make a change for a healthier lifestyle to join us at F.R. We are group of people who know how to have fun, encourage each other along the way because we see the commitment and dedication that is put forward by everyone.

I think what sets Fitness Revolution apart from other gyms and personal trainers is how motivating the trainers are.  Dan pushes us to be our best, calling out that you can handle more weight or one more rep, just one more etc.  He does this in such a way that you believe in yourself, because he believes in you.  Everyone working out also looks out for and encourages each other.  We notice when regulars are missing and truly care about each other.  I also like the extras such as Hitman Challenge, Burpees’s for a Cause, Pull-ups for Zoe, etc.  What truly great and loving hearts all the Fitness Revolution trainers have.

Fitness Revolution taught me that I do not always have to be perfect, I just have to keep trying to be the best I can be.  I have so much more self confidence now.

I was a little apprehensive to join a group workout environment but after my first session with Cleveland Fitness Revolution, my worries were quickly defused. The atmosphere was tremendous and the direction by the instructors is top notch. Even though it is a group session, the instructor is still able to give personal attention throughout the workout. Before I started the program I would categorize my fitness level as below average. Throughout the first month of the camp I have seen excellent results losing nearly 20 pounds and increasing my strength and stamina each week. In addition to the workout instruction, Cleveland Fitness Revolution offers many other amenities including nutrition instruction, meal plans and on-line fitness guides in case you have to miss a session. Just want to take a minute and let you know my results from the past 4 weeks. I’ve officially lost 12 pounds eating healthy by following your nutrition guide for boot camp. I was measured after 4 weeks and lost 3 ” in the waist and 3/4 ” in the arms. I ‘ve seen and felt my progress from the work out side and increased energy level. My need for antacid tablets every night before bed has ceased. Even though the workouts at times can be physically challenging for me at the age of 53, I can see the amazing progress I’ve made. I started the 5:30 am bootcamp four weeks ago.  I did not think I could get up that early—let alone workout.  I was in terrible shape and suffered from a sore shoulder and tennis elbow.  The first day Nate had us complete a 25-minute fitness assessment.  Today was my last day for this session and we ended with the same assessment.  My improvement is significant.  I went from struggling to complete 25 pushups to hammering out 50 today in less time than it took to complete 25 the first day.  My overall fitness improved 25% and this was with 50% heavier dumbbells.  My shoulder is almost perfect and my tennis elbow has subsided.  I have lost 2+ pant sizes in four weeks and I have not been diligent on the nutrition end of the program.  Overall I feel lighter and fitter and can move about my daily routine (including playing sports with my children) with greater ease and enjoyment.  I recommend it to everyone I know.

Cleveland Boot Camp has jump-started my enthusiasm to get in shape. I am a busy 45 year old mom of three who works out of the home. My weekly workouts consist of bodysculpting, pilates and yoga. The 5:30 am hour is perfect for my life; home and showered before anyone even wakes! Osteoarthritis in one knee has made running a thing of the past, and I needed a new form of cardio. Dan’s class is a great mix of weights and cardio and truly the best sweat I’ve had from a workout in a long time!

Dan’s a great instructor who takes the time to get to know his clients strengths and weaknesses, pushing us to our unknown potentials, all while offering the right modifications. The class is always different which keeps it interesting…and makes the hour fly by! For someone who doesn’t LOVE to work out, this may be the best part, unless you count the fact that you get results. In a few months I have lost a couple of inches all around. My clothes fit better, and I have a ton more energy. No more “hitting the wall” in the late afternoon.

Dan has a wealth of info about nutritional as well and is always willing to stay after class to answer a question or concern or do an assessment. He’s a great trainer who seems genuinely concerned that you reach your goals…and a sense of humor that makes the pain much easier to take!

Boot camp has been the only exercise regiment that I have ever stuck with and that’s because I love the workouts and I have seen real results. Workouts change day by day and minute by minute so I never get bored. Also, the interval training has made my body more reactive to the  exercise. If you only have a limited time to give to exercise and you want the most out of it, then boot camp is it.

I have been training with Dan Bednar for almost two years now.  I had lost about 25 pounds before I met Dan.  I have lost another 55 pounds by training with him.  He is AWESOME!!!  He has a wonderful personality that you even like him when he is beating your body up at each workout.  If you are committed and ready to do what you are taught, he has the formula to melt the fat off your body.  I have lost over twelve inches in my waist and over 30 inches off my body in a year and a half.  I am 54 years young and feel like I am 21 again.  I know I am the same weight I was in my 20’s.  I have gone from 308 pounds to 228 pounds.  I have more energy than I have had in fifteen years.

I have learned that interval training works, coupled with the RIGHT diet.  I have never been hungry on this plan.  I eat 5 – 6 times a day with smaller portions and a higher protein less carb mixture of foods.  What I learned from Dan was when you discipline yourself and when you burn more than you take into your body the fat melts off.

When I went back into CrossFit for the second time in my life, I wanted a coach who knew what they were talking about. Being that I am older, I needed someone who was patient but also knew how to push me when I needed it. Also, I wanted someone who was willing to take the time with me that I needed.
